Libation

Most modern Pagans perform libation either during or after their rituals. A portion of food or drink is saved for the deities and spirits and poured on the ground at some sacred place. If the ritual is outdoors, the libation can be carried out during the ritual (as at a Heathen blot); if it is indoors, the libation will be saved in a special vessel until it can be offered (this is often the case with Wiccan rituals, where a portion of the cakes and wine are saved for libation). Many polytheists have a special bowl for daily offerings to deities and spirits.
