Innovation (in ritual and in life in general) is often to be found among Pagans, and this is good. Many seek to calcify tradition, and to regulate what it includes; however it would be a pity to stifle innovation and creativity, which is the life-blood of living traditions. Innovation just for the sake of it, however, is probably not helpful; people need structure and continuity as well as change.
