There are two main ways of conducting a ritual: using a pre-written script, or by extemporising (speaking as the inspiration comes). Extemporising is different from channelling (allowing a spirit or deity to speak through one), in that it is the self speaking, but allowing one's creativity free reign within the context of whatever the ritual is about. Extemporising is often easier if it is upon a theme, as directed by the structure of the ritual.
