Privacy and confidentiality are important in small groups which meet together for ritual, whether it be for magical ritual or purely celebratory ritual. These are related to secrecy, but not the same issue. The idea of privacy is about knowing that one's deepest and most private emotions and experiences will not be made available to all and sundry; confidentiality is about knowing that if one divulges personal information, it will not be passed on.
It is important to bear in mind that extended confidentiality may apply (i.e. the confidant/e, if s/he is not competent to deal with the issue, may ask another responsible person for advice about it, as long as the information has been suitably anonymised).
These rights do not of course extend to someone who has committed a crime (such as child abuse, for example).
