Goddess and Feminist Thealogians

Page history last edited by Yvonne 1 yr ago

An important precursor to modern Pagan theology was the rise of feminist thealogy ("a reflection on the divine in feminine and feminist terms" - Charlotte Caron) in the 1970s. Some of these writers were the first to seriously approach notions of theology outside a monotheist and patriarchal context. It could be fairly said that these books helped pave the way for the development of modern Pagan theologies.

Note: While some of these authors involve themselves in Goddess worship or participation with the modern Pagan/Heathen communities, some have decided to stay within a monotheist context in hopes of reforming what they see as a broken and imbalanced system. It is important to keep that in mind when going through the following list.
