Folklore is the body of traditional knowledge, stories, magical techniques, dances, customs, and so on handed down mainly through oral traditions.
Many Pagans are actively involved in the revival of folk customs such as mumming, morris dancing and storytelling.
It was previously thought that folk customs were a survival or fossil of pre-Christian culture, but recent scholarship has demonstrated that they mostly are not, though they may express Pagan themes.
